Angus Robinson
Angus Robinson is a Leadership and Management Development consultant who helps individuals and teams turn good intentions into lasting behaviour change. He specialises in personal productivity, team effectiveness and the practical application of business psychology, through his own practice, Total Cognition.
Angus holds an MSc in Occupational and Business Psychology from Kingston University, a Level 5 Certificate in Learning and Development (CIPD) and a Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management (ILM). He is a Situational Leadership (SL2) Practitioner, a MindGym Certified Coach, a BPS-accredited Test User (Occupational Ability and Personality) and a Lumina Spark and Lumina Select Certified Practitioner. Together, these give him an evidence-based toolkit for helping people understand themselves first and then change how they lead.
He began his career in recruitment before moving into Learning and Development at World Challenge (TUI Group). There he managed 15 facilitators and a £350,000 budget across the UK and Europe, and personally designed four development programmes for 5,000 customers. He went on to senior L&D roles at RCI Bank and Services and Renault UK, working across both companies at once. He designed and delivered a multistage programme with business projects that showed clear return on investment and built a more collaborative culture. He then joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments as Leadership Development and Talent Management Senior Manager, focusing on senior level interventions. Across these roles he led graduate programmes, drove culture change and influenced stakeholders up to C-suite level.
Angus has delivered over 1,000 hours of facilitation, training and coaching to hundreds of individuals and senior leaders. He has facilitated learning for groups of 200 and led a company-wide culture change programme reaching over 400 staff, consistently achieving participant satisfaction ratings above 90%.
He brings warmth, humour and analytical rigour in equal measure. He builds trust quickly with diverse audiences, from first-time managers to senior leaders, and is equally at home in a room of 200 or in a 1-to-1 coaching conversation.
Angus designs and delivers training in self-awareness, personal effectiveness and time management, goal setting, effective communication, emotional intelligence, difficult conversations, performance management, managing change, adaptability and high performing teams. His work focuses on financial and professional services, and he has also worked in automotive, travel and FinTech.
As a partner of LMI UK, Angus brings this experience to LMI’s leadership development programmes.
