Mole Valley Champions – developing young leaders in Surrey

by | Apr 8, 2022

LMI UK are delighted to be running the first Making of a Champion™ open programme in Mole Valley starting on 25th April and running for 10 weeks. The course is supported by Mole Valley Employment and Skills Hub and Mole Valley Chamber of Commerce and is the beginning of an ongoing initiative to help young people in the area develop their confidence and crucial skills to help them succeed in whatever career path they choose.

The Making of a Champion motto is ‘Dream great dreams. Realise your potential. Be your very best’.

“It’s been an especially challenging couple of years for young people,” says LMI UK Director Nick Howes, “and to be in a position to help with such a fantastic resource as we have in this programme is exciting and also brings a sense of responsibility. I remember seeing The Making of a Champion programme for the first time and thinking, if I’d had this when I was 17 or 18, it would have helped me tremendously.”

The aim is to create a template for partnership amongst local employers, education providers, youthwork organisations and, most importantly, young people themselves, to release their potential that will have a positive impact on themselves, local business and the community as a whole.
